Should you keep on working out like you did during the season or give something new a chance? It can be a daunting task because many triathletes feel like they are changing it up by doing running, biking, and swimming on different days at different distances. However, your body will adapt to these workouts and being able to post better triathlon times next week is going to be hard if you keep doing the same thing. Take advantage of the three to five months you get off before your next race. Your triathlon muscles need a time to recover but this is also a time to work on new muscles. If you keep on with the same workouts you could deteriorate what you have gained and could injure yourself. Don’t workout like your racing next week and instead try something new.
